Liszt - Piano Works Transcriptions VIII II/23

Contains transcriptions of three Weber overtures: Oberon, Der Freischütz and the Jubelouvertüre, followed by two works by Rossini, the Air du Stabat Mater and La Charité, Hummel's Septet in D minor Op. 74, and two Wagner transcriptions: the Tannhäuser overture and O du mein holder Abendstern (Song to the Evening Star). The volume concludes with a piano version of a Beethoven song cycle, to texts by Goethe: 1. Mignon, 2. Mit einem gemalten Bande, 3. Freudvoll und leidvoll, 4. Es war einmal ein König, 5. Wonne der Wehmut, 6. Die Trommel gerühret. All of these transcriptions are faithful to the original scores, and were made by Liszt in the 1840s.
