The anonymous popular- urban songs and the Greek dances are our national heritage that has survived until nowadays by popular creators and musicians. 

This music tradition is a witness of an alive Modern Greek civilization that keeps on moving deeply and transmit to every new music generation, that discovers her again, in their special way. 

It is common place that a people without written language and history knowledge loses their characteristics and is forgotten as the time passes. 

The turn of the new generation to the study of the traditional music imposes the immediate registration of the rich and various music material, the theoretical regulation and the transmission of this music of this art to the next generations.

This music multilingualism that the students are subjected to during teaching, lack of the appropriate theoretical manual, has led to the thinking of the creation of a Numerical system that can bridge over the two biggest traditions of the tropical music: the Church Music and the oriental Makam.
