The Guitar Book No.1 that precedes this volume, consists of a brief account of the evolution of the instrument, some basic principles on the technique of the left and right hand, basic rules on structure and theory, some exercises, etudes and pieces that belong to the material used during the first year, as well as brief notes on composers.

The Guitar  Book No.2 consists of a selection of works that should be covered in the second year of study. With these works a student may become acquainted with the entire extent of the instrument as well as the remaining technical and interpretative elements (barre, slurs, glissandi, harmonics etc.) which were not incorporated in the first book. The student may also found some brief notes on composers and their works in the last pages of this book.
